Top 5 Unique Vancouver Dining Experiences

Vancouver is a truly multicultural city, offering an international array of dining pleasures.

But it isn't just the food that can make a meal. These five restaurants all offer something extra to make your dining experience even more special.

Shabusen Korean BBQ
2993 Granville St.
604.737.6888

A real hands-on dining experience, with the table set around a communal BBQ grill on which you cook steak, chicken, pork, seafood or even tofu, along with a fantastic sushi menu.

Stone Grill
1661 Granville St. (under the bridge)
604.637.0388

This unique (and healthy) dining option has your meat, seafood or vegetable dish brought to you raw, on a slab of lava rock heated to 400° C. It cooks right in front of you, letting you decide how rare or well-done it will be. With no oils or marinades, it is the healthiest (and most delicious) way of cooking you've ever seen!

Memphis Blues BBQ
1465 W. Broadway
604.738.6806
-or-
1342 Commercial Drive
604.215.2599

The fact that every table comes with its own roll of paper towels gives you an idea of what kind of joint this is. It's a real Deep South eatery, where the music is blues and carnivores will be in heaven. You'll only find big platters of meat, from sausage to chicken (and ribs, of course!) adorned with 'slaw and beans. Messy, indulgent and utterly meat-tastic.

Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant
555 W. Hastings St.
604.669.2220
The view from the Lookout! at Habour Centre in downtown Vancouver is stunning. Luckily, the dishes served up at the revolving restaurant atop the observation deck are good enough to compete with the million-dollar vistas. Steak, seafood, pastas and 360° panoramic views of the Lower Mainland.

Great Han Mongolian BBQ
3043 Main Street (at 14th Ave)
604.873.8178
You choose all the raw meat, veggies and noodles you want, mix up your own sauce and give it to the cook who spreads it all out on the superheated (700° C!) grill to let it simmer until the meat is cooked, the veggies grilled and the noodles coated in yummy sauce. Best of all, it's cheap and all you can eat!
